Fiona Apple - Paper Bag lyrics (appropriated)
I was staring at the sky
just looking for a star
To pray on, or wish on,
or something like that
I was having a sweet fix
of a daydream of a girl
Whose reality i knew,
was a hopeless to be had
But then the dove of hope
began its downward slope
And I believed for a moment that
my chances were
approaching to be grabbed
But as it came down near,
so did a weary tear
I thought it was a bird,
but it was just a paper bag
*chorus*
Hunger hurts,
and I want her so bad, oh it kills
Cuz I know I'm a mess she don't wanna clean up
I got to fold cuz these hands are
too shaky to hold
hunger hurts,
but starving works
When it costs too much to love
And I went crazy again today,
Looking for a strand to climb
Looking for a little hope
Baby said she couldn't stay,
wouldn't put her lips to mine,
And a fail to kiss is a fail to cope
I said, "Honey, I don't feel so good,
don't feel justified
Come on put a little love here in my void"
She said "It's all in your head",
and I said "So's everything"
But she didn't get it
I thought she was a woman
But she was just a little girl
*chorus*
Hunger hurts,
and I want her so bad, oh it kills
Cuz I know I'm a mess she don't wanna clean up
I got to fold cuz these hands are
too shaky to hold
hunger hurts,
but starving works
When it costs too much to love
Hunger hurts,
but I want her so bad, oh it kills
Cuz I know I'm a mess she don't wanna clean up
I got to fold becuz these hands are just too shaky to hold
hunger hurts, but starving works
When it costs too much to love
Hunger hurts,
but i want her so bad oh it kills
Cuz i know i'm a mess she don't wanna clean up

but starving - it works,
When it cost too much to love.

Process: Self Portrait
So from time to time I like to document my art making process. This is a self portrait I did about 4 months ago.. I went back and did a few revisions after the final picture was taken just to fix the right eye and tone down a few of the warmer colors. With that being said... ENJOY!

8 Ways to save the Gusman (please read & frwd the info)
Miami’s Beloved Cultural Center Since 1926
Tucked into Miami’s contemporary skyline is an enchanting Mediterranean courtyard with shimmering stars and golden balconies. Majestic turrets and towers suggest another era when performances were events, and grand theaters provided a dreamlike escape from the modern world.
The Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts is not just a “venue” – is the jewel of South Florida arts and entertainment facilities, affording South Florida’s diverse community and its international guests a unique cultural experience that defies comparison.
As you are aware, the Gusman Center has been informed that due to the City of Miami’s budget shortfall, the Theater may not receive funding from the City for the coming fiscal year. Without this financial support, after 84 years in our community, the Gusman’s doors could be forced to close permanently before the year is out.
8 WAYS TO SAVE THE GUSMAN
1. LEARN THE FACTS. The City of Miami has threatened to stop funding the city-owned Gusman Center, a cultural and historic landmark critical to the vitality of downtown. Visit the Advocacy and Press pages at Friends of Gusman website at www.friendsofgusmancenter.org to understand why and what you can do.
2. DONATE. Help Friends of Gusman save the theater by making a tax-deductible donation online at the Friends of Gusman website at www.friendsofgusmancenter.org.
3. CONTACT YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS AND ATTEND THE CITY OF MIAMI BUDGET HEARINGS. Support Friends of Gusman’s efforts to restore the necessary funding in the city budget. Tell your officials that the Gusman is critical to revitalizing downtown Miami. Sign the online petition, and send your officials a letter directly from our site http://www.friendsofgusmancenter.org/advocacy.html.
When: September 14 at 4:00 pm (1st Budget Hearing)
When: September 27 at 4:00 pm (2nd Budget Hearing)
Where: City of Miami Commission Chambers,
3500 Pan American Drive, Miami.
**** T-shirts will be handed out to all those who come out in support.
Please look for us wearing SAVE GUSMAN shirts at the entrance to City Hall. Phone for more information: Daniella Sforza 305-308-0802, or Robert Hernandez 786-325-8093.
4. CONTACT THE MEDIA. Send your 150-word letter to HeraldEd@MiamiHerald.com; Fax: 305-376-8950; or The Readers’ Forum, Miami Herald, One Herald Plaza, Miami, FL 33132-1693. Include your name, address and a daytime telephone number. Letters may be edited for grammar, brevity and clarity. All letters submitted become the property of The Miami Herald.
5. TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Tell your friends about Friends of Gusman and give send them the link to our page: www.friendsofgusmancenter.org.
6. VISIT THE THEATER. Visit the theater’s online calendar at www.gusmancenter.org/events for a complete list of upcoming shows and community events.
7. RENT THE THEATER. Contact Assistant Theater Director Joyce Fleming at 305-374-2444 or jfleming@gusmancenter.org to discuss renting the Gusman for your performance, social function or corporate event.
8. STAY IN TOUCH. Ask questions and share your ideas on the Gusman Center's Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/gusmancenter, and sign up to receive the theater's monthly e-newsletter at the official Gusman Center website www.gusmancenter.org.

lyrics that speak to me
Regina Spektor - "On the Radio"
This is how it works
It feels a little worse
Than when we drove our hearse
Right through that screaming crowd
While laughing up a storm
Until we were just bone
Until it got so warm
That none of us could sleep
And all the styrofoam
Began to melt away
We tried to find some worms
To aid in the decay
But none of them were home
Inside their catacomb
A million ancient bees
Began to sting our knees
While we were on our knees
Praying that disease
Would leave the ones we love
And never come again
On the radio
We heard November Rain
That solo's really long
But it's a pretty song
We listened to it twice
'Cause the DJ was asleep
This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dying breath
No, this is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took
And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some
Someone else's heart
Pumping someone else's blood
And walking arm in arm
You hope it don't get harmed
But even if it does
You'll just do it all again
And on the radio
You hear November Rain
That solo's awful long
But it's a good refrain
You listen to it twice
'Cause the DJ is asleep
On the radio
(oh oh oh)
On the radio
On the radio - uh oh
On the radio - uh oh
On the radio - uh oh
On the radio

what's hot this spring
Mustache themed parties:
the fake mustache, while controversial still has its appeal, and what more appealing than a room full of them! yeah it makes you look like a pervert... What's that you say, the guy with the pencil thin hairlip stache looks like a creep... that is probably affirmative... but hey there's strength in numbers... and in this case a bit of coolness as well!

Gotcha... lol
As a painter i am always on the search for good source imagery for my body of work, i have been lucky enough to know interesting and a wide assortment of friends to call upon to sit for me to do sketches or take photos.... and when worse comes to worse i fall on old photos or stock images... I always find it interesting when i find a piece out there that i love for one reason or another.. and later by happenstance i come across an image or photo that was sourced to make that painting i liked so much.... my newest discovery is the source image that was used by artist Lani Imre to created her most delectable painting titled "Stashia"
I definitely love where she went with this piece.
kudos to ya Lani
