ludicrous, infuriating, holier-than-thou

Keith Olbermann unleashed what may well have been his angriest, most blistering Special Comment yet, aimed squarely at his favorite target: President Bush. Olbermann was responding to Bush's claim that he had given up golf in honor of the Iraq war — and his assertion that a Democratic president withdrawing from Iraq would "eventually lead to another attack on the United States" — a statement Olbermann called "ludicrous, infuriating, holier-than-thou and most importantly bone-headedly wrong."

Glowing in the Dark

I bid yee well on this fine Wednesday morning my good little brothers and little sisters, salutations to all my kindred souls across the pond and the rest of this global village alike. I… your brother in the cause, none other than… the Miami Nate, is pleased to share with you the touring spectacle known as the Kanye West Glow in the Dark Tour!

This Concert was nothing less then a major Broadway production, but then again I would ask nothing less from the ego of one of today’s top selling personalities.

**Note** for those of you that intend on seeing this show when it comes to your area I suggest you get there on time, If the ticket says it starts at 7:00 then that means it’s starting at 7:01.

The show starts off with Mr. Lupe Fiasco as the opener, He runs through his hits as well as popular songs from both albums. Providing back up is Nikki Jean, Matthew Santos, and Sarah Green. With a high energy performance Lupe weaved back and forth between his two albums and kept a good pace to his performance.

Next up, a Mob hit the stage. The mob was backed by a live band that was determined to rock hard and rock loud. In the confusion a voice rings slightly clearer then the others and a figure steps to the foreground. This individual is none other then Pharrell Williams, producer and front man of N.E.R.D. Though I do feel I preferred the studio sound of this group as oppose to the rough choppy sound of the group live, I’ll have to admit they made the crowd have a good time as their focus was to “Spazz out” and have fun. Key moments: Crowd eruption when they did Lapdance; Chris Brown poppin up out of nowhere and dancing like his life depended on it; and the two dueling drummers doing their solos.

Now I’d have to say that I’m not one for seeing an R&B artist live, so I figured I’d use Rihanna’s show as the time I'd go get a drink and make the washroom available to myself as her show would probably not interest me. That my friends could not have been further from the truth. Her show covered her sure shot singles, featured dancers, and a wardrobe change. Most notable is that fact that she sounds great live which had me surprised and now has me considering on checking out her last album.

This brings us to the headliner, Mr. West. His show opens up with him crashed on a planet. It’s just him and his spaceship “Jane”. Jane tells him that she’s been damaged and doesn’t know where they are. He then goes through a string of songs that take us through a narrative of sorts. He meets shooting stars that try to help power the ship unsuccessfully; his ship powers down then is re-powered in the end by Kanye’s sheer “mega star power”. The awesome set design, Top notch pyrotechnics, and on point lighting are combined to make this concert transcend from just a show to a multisensory experience.

I leave you with a quote from the man himself….

“People expect me to come with innovative stuff… I’m sure a lot of people expect some neon, lower east side, post everybody dressing like the 80’s stuff or maybe the light up jacket from the Grammies, perhaps the robot girl and light spectacle they saw on Youtube from the European run. My friends….. NONE OF THE ABOVE!!!
